Only the pure of heart will see God. That means only people with a clear conscience, undefiled un-seared and not evil in any way will see God.

Matthew 5

8              Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

Friends we all need to examine ourselves and make sure we are pure and that there is nothing testifying against us in our conscience. Further we need to study the word to ensure that our lifestyle is a lifestyle without sin. I am not talking about the sinful mistake but a lifestyle of sin. And if we do find that we are living a life of sin and ignoring it we better realize that we have a seared conscience and then we better change and transform. If you want to see God you better study the word and especially the conscience. How it works and how it can be corrupted. So let us see what the word says concerning the conscience.

1 Corinthians 8

4              Therefore concerning the eating of things offered to idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is no other God but one.

5              For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords),

6              yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.

7              However, there is not in everyone that knowledge; for some, with consciousness of the idol, until now eat it as a thing offered to an idol; and their conscience, being weak, is defiled.

8              But food does not commend us to God; for neither if we eat are we the better, nor if we do not eat are we the worse.

9              But beware lest somehow this liberty of yours become a stumbling block to those who are weak.

10           For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating in an idol’s temple, will not the conscience of him who is weak be emboldened to eat those things offered to idols?

11           And because of your knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?

12           But when you thus sin against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, you sin against Christ.

13           Therefore, if food makes my brother stumble, I will never again eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.

We learn from this passage that people can have a weak conscience. What does that mean? It means that when this person does sin their conscience does not accuse them so much. They will find it easy to overrule their conscience and sin. We also learn that they might perish who do that. In this instance Paul uses the example of meat that was offered to idols. But it is the precept that is important and the precept holds true with all sin, not only this specific sin. We can also learn from this passage that a person with a weak conscience is someone who does not have a lot of knowledge of God. Fortunately that can be remedied, read the bible!!!

1 Timothy 4

1              Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,

2              speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron

So concerning a seared conscience we learn that it comes from the false doctrine of deceiving spirits and demons. Friends these are not deceiving spirits amongst non-believers, no these are deceiving spirits and demons among believers in churches and especially the pulpits. Test everything that you are taught at church. Do not believe every teaching unless you have made sure for yourself. There are no excuses for being deceived because you can check for yourself. The problem is you are lazy or you just like to live with the false doctrines and sin and are not willing to transform!!!

1 John 4

1              Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Ephesians 4

…we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting…

So how exactly do we test these spirits and are not blown around by them? We study the bible and we pray continually. We as believers today have so many tools and knowledge at our disposal. We should all be prophets and great men and women of God but we choose to watch television rather than get vision from God. Tomorrow we will continue on the topic of conscience.

Till then

God bless
